Installation of the roof and sandwich panels on the outside steel structures of the Reagents Preparation building is completed at Udokan Mining & Metallurgical Plant site. The facility is designed to prepare and store the reagents used in hydrometallurgical ore processing. The first steel column of the building was erected in late December of 2019.
The amount of concrete laid into foundations of the building is about 10 thous. cubic meters, the weight of steel structures erected is over 2 thous. tons.
As was noted by German Mironov, General Director of BMC LLC: “Currently, the works on the construction site are being finished to erect the roof and install wall panels onto the ore crushing building, and the works in the flotation area are already 40 percent completed”. According to him, the outer envelops of all concentrator buildings shall be closed before end of this year.
The ball mill No.1 shell had been installed earlier in the ore grinding building on the construction site, and preparations had been made for erection of steel structures of the crushed ore stockpile building.
The “Udokan MMP” 50MW substation has seen a completion of installation of another transformer, shunt reactors and switching equipment.
Any time soon, a delivery of equipment is expected to the second power generating unit site — “Bluzhdayuschy” substation. It will serve to provide 146MW of power for future plant operation.
As of today, the foundations of equipment and portals are completed here, and erection of steel structures has started.
German Mironov noted that over 2.2 thous. people are currently engaged on the construction site.
