Udokan Copper initiated a package of preparation works at the transportation & storage facility construction site near Novaya Chara railway station of the Baikal-Amur Mainline.
As noted by German Mironov, General Director of Udokan Copper: «Earthworks and grading have been currently started at the construction site». According to him, the railroad base will allow for receiving, shipping and storing of the final products of Udokan Plant, and the throughput of this facility is scaled to fit in Stage II of the Project. The works are scheduled for completion before the middle of 2022.
The transportation & storage facility includes an administrative & amenities building intended for accommodation of the managing and operating personnel, sanitary & utility rooms, a server room, meal rooms, and a medical station.
It is also planned to provide the facility with a boiler-house, an area for equipment unloading by a jib crane, a heated and a cold storage for loads, a check-point for motor vehicles, a heated garage, etc.
